I like both platforms.
Steam encouraged me to assemble a daunting backlog due to sales.
I like the extras included with Gog games and appreciate it's DRM free approach.

Well, I already favor Steam over GOG, to be honest.

But I like the fact that GOG exists, but to me, they will ALWAYS be Good Old Games, the company known to keep the memory of classic games alive.
Harvest Moon on Steam? Really? http://store.steampowered.com/app/585900/Harvest_Moon_Light_of_Hope/
May not be a "real" HM, but it does look fun.

Since when have they not been?

I've always favoured Steam as a shopping platform, and i like that i can organise my game in custom lists. No idea if you can do that in GOG Galaxy but never been inclined to try.
If you ran the world, it would probably be on fire right now.

For several years now. Once they started expanding beyond old games, they changed their name. It's now just "GOG" and it isn't shortened from anything.

Well, they are not called Good Old Games anymore. ;)

What I meant in my post is that I see GOG as a good place to buy old classic games, but I don't care for buying new games on GOG. To me, they will always be Good OLD Games.

Like how DC (Detective Comics) just became DC Comics.
