What do people do when they retire with that much money that young? I'm not a fan of traveling so that wouldn't be something I'd do.

It's freedom.

Is it though? The point of life is escaping the grind. Once you do what is there?

Lack of stress from having to worry about
loans & debt, medical care & check-ups, and housing.
While having freedom to pursue whatever heart desire (materialistic goods to hobby to professions)
is a big thing....

I will never understand the bulk of lottery winners wasting money on mansions and cars they can not maintain or pay tax on instead of creating reliable safety net.

I thought this was a light hearted topic but all I'm getting is dead-ass serious responses to my posts...
Calm down.

If you win the lottery, you'll probably turn out the same.

Sleep in everyday. Invest. Read. Play videogames. Pursue hobbies. Cook delicious food. Post on GameFAQs.

For the most part, world travel is overrated. You can see all of the cool places on public television shows for free, and you don't have to worry about local diseases, language barriers, terrorists, or any other bulls***.

It always boggles my mind how people assume that just because someone has money, they are compelled to spend it. As someone else said, it's typically the poor schlubs who win the lottery and have no idea how to actually manage money who end up blowing though millions and back in the poorhouse.

If you think watching public television is the equivalent of traveling yourself, you need to get out more. It is very sad to me that there are people who are that clueless out there. Local diseases and terrorists? Sounds to me like you need to watch less TV and realize the world is not the place it is portrayed as on the boob tube.

Yes television is designed to be population control, but a lot can happen when you're out of your element and people know it.

Anyway, I know people that travel all the time. They certainly aren't happy. I'm pretty sure that's why they travel as much as they do. Trying to forget what their actual life is.

You'd need 3 pretty soon though. Then 4. Then 5. Eventually you're out of money.

Uh huh. I've been to Venice, Italy, and watched PBS shows about Venice, Italy. The shows were better.
