How are they going to know who is buying them?

It won't work they will sell it to whoever is buying. Only thing they can do is lock them behind bundles and limit 2 per person.

A very pertinent question, but it seems that by limiting purchases to two cards per person they're doing about all they can to hit miners while leaving ordinary users alone.

Start tracking GPU purchases like Sudafed.
OK so your saying it tried to use a blocked port, got blocked, and switched to an unblocked port while waiting for the user to respond? - Why I love Gfaqs.

What are the stores going to do that follow this. 2 per household per set amount of time?

Just go with 2 GPU per month limit for each account. Extra steps for miners. They would go through trouble getting GPUs.

Yeah, almost zero % chance of that happening, especially at brick and mortar retailers. Times are tough and to magically have a bubble over something that has a high markup/great profit margins (unlike a fixed price phone or SNES classic) isn't going to happen without a vendor bonus. This is probably just a token gesture by NVIDIA to say that they still care about gamers.

The average BTC miner is MUCH richer than the average gamer. Nvidia in reality PREFERS BTC miners.

No, they don't. When the core audiance they are targeting can not buy their cards, it only stands to hurt them long term. This dumb fake currency nonsense will eventually die and customer loyalty will have dropped off as a result, hurting them in the end. I'm sure they know this too... thats why they are trying to limit cards to miners somehow.
