1. Keep a positive attitude - if they are toxic because they are tilted, it can calm them down. If they are toxic to bait, play along with it but put a positive spin on it and turn the joke into your own and it can de-fang them

2. Ignore them - like actually hit the ignore button. Mute them. If they can't be heard they can't affect you

3. Eat the loss, take a break, get back in - It happens, especially with popular online games. Take a breather or it can lead to you getting tilted

4. Find cool people to play with - If you find chill randoms you like playing with, add them to your friends list. It can be extremely helpful to form these kind of groups, even if they aren't great at the game. The more you play together, the less toxic players you will encounter, and these can end up being good friends. Things like Discord can keep you in touch out of game too.

4. Play less toxic games - OW, Dota, LoL and other games are popular, and that naturally leads to tons of toxic players. But thats not the standard. Find more tight knit community games, or games that are less competitive in nature.

The worst thing you can do is reverse psychology, it flips their s*** and can actually get you banned.

Honestly, you need to just grow up.

I find it hilarious even more so when you don't respond and they just keep getting angrier for not being able to get under your skin.

I tell them they need to play better if they expect to be able to carry me since i'm so bad at the game. Seriously, who cares? You either listen to what hey have to say and take it constructively, or you don't. If they grief then report them.

players who get mad and throw insults because you suck at a game.

Just laugh, say "it's all good bro, I'm here to have fun. Why aren't you having fun? Maybe you should play something you enjoy instead of being mad".

Keep that attitude and eventually they'll either get so furious that you're not affected that they self-destruct, or they'll chill and you can go back to enjoying the game. But I would hope you're trying to improve...it's no fun playing a game when someone else is screwing around. I mean, as long as you're playing and trying to win, the "toxic" guy can just stuff it...if you're the guy who's ruining things for everyone by shooting at the sun or staring at the wall while everyone else is playing for the objectives, then you're the problem.

I consider that it's own special form of "toxicity", and won't so much as hesitate to report it as appropriate. File it under throwing or poor team play. It's one thing to try and end up sucking. It's another entirely to be the a****** who joins a team game and f***s around off objective.
Even I'm not crazy enough to believe that distortion of reality

I clarified that later in the post. I wasn't talking about spending his time trying to see if he could jump over another character that was crouching or whatever it is people do... I was just saying that if he's doing his best and the other guy is mad, then tough t**** for the other guy. How do you get good without starting out somewhere?
