Was looking through old threads on here and recommendations for ecollegpc was the only constant thing despite the miserable smugness.

The site honestly looks like the html fan pages I recall making in the early 2000's when games used to come with "fan site kits." Also the prices are higher than even alienware.

What doesn't help the "retro" vibe is the option to get a firewire card installed, which I haven't seen in years.

Is the gimmick supposed to be like you are ordering a PC right out of some college dorm room from 1999?

Their prices used to be better, their customer service seems pretty good still.
Explain why MSI needs our laptops on top of the wholesale cost they're already get from us in their GT72(s)/GT80(s) trade in program? MSI isn't to be trusted!

But there is nothing about that site that instills confidence.

Trust the site. It's a good site. They along with pcpartpicker were what we all would recommend back in 2012/2013. If you didn't know how to build your pc ecollege did it a lot cheaper then cyberpower or ibuypower

The biggest problem with either of those sites is not the high prices, it is the terrible quality parts and their "fees" to restock broken equipment if you even get your pc at all... all on top of the high prices.

Back in 2012 every pc brand was decently priced compared to now.

Which is probably the only positive thing I have ever heard on this board, which is strange.

Are people trolling or does someone on this board own the site?

I've bought a PC from them before. They do well.

I managed to get a decent build from them for below $2k, which is less than other sites.

I may consider them.
