I want to say DOOM, but I'm probably wrong.

Define "remade." By my definition, DOOM has never been officially remade. The most current version of it is still the same game as the original, just with bugfixes, a fourth episode, and some level tweaks and engine enhancements.

King's Quest has had four actual remakes, two by Sierra, two by fangroup AGD. There's:
1984 - The original PCJr. release by IBM, followed by ports to IBM PC and Tandy. This one's actually pretty obscure; all official compilations (including the GOG and Steam collections) included the '87 remake and called it the "old version", but do not have the true original, and almost none of the abandonware sites have this version either.

1987 - AGI remake by Sierra
1990 - SCI remake by Sierra
2001 - VGA remake by AGD
2009 - "KQ1VGA enhanced" by AGD

There was also a Sega Master System version by Parker Bros. that should be considered a remake rather than a port.

Technically, probably something like Super Mario Brothers or Tetris. If you’re talking about remade by another company for profit then... I don’t know.

The only Mario games I could find for PC are

Mario is Missing!
Mario Teaches Typing
Mario Teaches Typing 2
Mario's Time Machine Deluxe
Super Mario Bros & Friends: When I Grow Up
Super Mario Bros. Print World

Which one of those Mario games are you referring to?

Super Mario Bros. hasn't been remade THAT often. There's Super Mario All-Stars, possibly Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, and possibly Super Mario Crossover. That's pretty much it.

Tetris, on the other hand, if we're even counting that game, has been remade so many times that it would boggle the mind just to count them. In the 80's alone we saw:
OG Tetris
DOS Tetris
Tandy Tetris
Spectrum Holobyte Tetris
Atari Tetris arcade
Tengen Tetris NES
Mirrorsoft Tetris C64
Sega Tetris
Bullet-Proof Tetris
Nintendo Tetris NES
Nintendo Tetris Gameboy

...and that's just the releases that had fairly wide distributions. In the 80's. If anyone reading this wants to go further down the rabbit hole, there's this:

I'm still curious what he meant by "remade". Remade means one very specific thing but the quotes make it into some self-definition he hasn't clarified. Re-releases? Most times a PC game engine has been reused to make more of the same game brand in the exact same engine?
