Many new ones revealed at CES 2018.

They tend to cost just over $1000 now and are incredibly portable with huge gains in battery life.

Many have desktop grade GPUs too

Its honestly a decent solution to the inflated cost of Desktop GPUs due to mining.

From my experience, you should at least reapply thermal paste every few years.

They're much more durable post 2012 imo

won't happen ever at least for me.

I don't like using laptops at all, I'd want a better keyboard and the displays are too low encouraging poor posture.

I was looking into gaming laptops recently but I need something that will last me a few years. A saw a nice Dell gaming laptop but the description said they last about 10,000 hours.

If you use the laptop eight hours a day every day that's nearly three and a half years of use.
I wish I made $400k a year to spam Twitter with nonsense and go golfing in Florida every other weekend....
