4k res gaming is a stupid meme anyways, I don't feel sorry for you guys.
There's hardly any good reason for a video card to have 3GB V-RAM, let alone 4 or 6GB.
Games never become any better or more fun. They just pack everything full of textures containing a billion pixels for 4k meme lords and tax everybody else's hardware for no good reason.

And don't even get me started on VR.

I have no interest in 4K gaming, and I hate gimmicky like VR and 3D. I just want a good solution to bring back rail shooters on modern displays. The only thing that's really worth having in 4K is porn. That being said, I like to build powerful machines when I build, and these RAM prices are f***ing bulls***.

Okay.

Consoles have games that work out of the box (and the assumption that PC games don't): False. Console games require multi-gig patches as soon as you stick the disc in the console. That isn't "working out of the box." PC has streamlined this update process so it largely disappears into the background.

Mods? You can get all kinds of unlicensed, unofficial, homebrew, fangame content that falls under the "mod" category on PC that would go against every ToS agreement for a console's walled garden. Consoles do not have mods (unless you jailbreak them): Bethesda games on consoles have a curated mod framework.

Sale prices are generally comparable on PC/PS4/XBONE, but if you are a Nintendo console gamer, any arguments about cheap games go completely out the window.

Buy a GPU and it's obsolete in 5+ years? That's f***ing amazing longevity. PC components used to go obsolete in months or weeks. And if you bought a PS4 or XBONE 5 years ago, guess what? It's obsolete now due to the Pro and X.

60fps and 4K... older games on the newest consoles. And they require patches for this kind of performance, which, once again, goes against the idea that they do this "out of the box."

Plus the "4k" that consoles do isn't real 4k. Hopefully this will shut @Sage_JJ up, but I doubt it if he's willing to pull out arguments that were wrong a decade ago and still are.

Oh look, 1337 still s*** posting like on NGG without being able to come up with a valid counter argument on his own.

called it. You rely on others to make your argument and proceed to try and ride their backs with it. To make matters more laughable you picked a s***ty argument at that. Close your failure of an account like people have been asking you to do for years.

Not false and there are plenty of complaints about people needing to configure pc settings and files just to get a game to load where as console games, regardless of needing a patch, boot right up and are playable without any altering needing to be done. Any patches needed would also be needed for the pc version of the game so your arguing against yourself here.

Doesnt matter what type of mods you can get on pc. They have been brought to consoles so your point is moot no matter how you try to spin it.

You said it yourself sales prices are generally comparable. You can nit pick all you want with Nintendo consoles but it doesnt change the fact sales prices for consoles are comparable to pc sales.

so 5 years is amazing? Good thing consoles remain running strong and are pushing higher end setting/graphics 7+ years down the line while the same gpu from 7 years ago is choking trying to run low to medium settings. The pro and X dont make the previous model obsolete as games are running just as good on the originals as the remodels. Prove me wrong with some games that struggle to run on the original consoles.

60fps and 4K... older games on the newest consoles. And they require patches for this kind of performance, which, once again, goes against the idea that they do this "out of the box."

Patches or not the consoles are capable of it. Show me a card from 5+ years ago that is capable of the same thing on current games.

It's not just settings. I've seen Steam games fail to start with no f***ing error, no explanation whatsoever. That's f***ing ridiculous in the 21st century. I've heard about games that refuse to run because the bulls*** visual studio redist is slightly newer than the game was built on. Again, no detailed error explaining the problem. The player had to f*** around until they figured it out. Sorry, but I think PC games should be more advanced in their handling of issues, especially on the Steam platform. Not to mention the bulls*** errors because games are compiled to require specific extra processor s***, so even though you meet or beat the minimum specs your s*** doesn't run it.

Called what? I already told you I'm not going to enter into a stupid argument with you. Wow, you're so cool/smart predicting that I'd do what I said I'd do! You've only presented tired arguments that have been debunked a decade ago. Now kindly f*** off.

Yeah, when my 970 isn't good enough for me anymore I'm not sure what I'll do. I have consoles but most games I want to play are pc exclusives. Really hoping the crypto craze dies in the next year or two.
