Basically, they've got enough votes to force everyone to vote to stop the repeal of net neutrality (and also stop it from ever happening again). It's not entirely dead yet. All you need to do is make sure your local congressman knows that if he votes against it, you'll vote against him next November.

The thing about broadband to rural areas just means they changed the definition of broadband so that they could say that existing s***ty lines = broadband.

It had previously been set at 25Mbps down, 3Mbps up by the Obama administration, but now thanks to Trump, everyone can have Broadband because it's set back to 10Mbps/1. I had that kind of speed back in 2006. I don't think that's an improvement.

Yeah this was a part that I missed before... "Wireless will count as broadband availablity" so even worse than just "existing s***ty lines". I'm honestly surprised he didn't try to roll it back to "anything faster than 56kbps is broadband".

10 Mbps is plenty for the average person. I had 12 until recently and was watching Netflix and 1080p YouTube just fine. Anything faster than that is pure download speed. This is about expanding infrastructure to help rural areas compete economically, not giving you gigabit speed to watch movies and play games.

s***ty times where s***ty rich a******s go unchecked blaming indifferent sloths for everything whilst simutaneously having everything. "You'd do the same if you had this kind of money" same old adorable defense.
You've got ten minutes. There's policies even your section have to follow

There ya go... you'll find a shill to defend literally ANY anti-consumer practice.

"Giving" rural customers broadband by reducing the speed that defines broadband is fine because they don't need any more than that anyway. Uh-huh. Trump didn't "give" them s***. He may as well end homelessness in the US by redefining what counts as a home to include sidewalks, park benches, and cardboard boxes.

And I guarantee if he did that, there would be a bunch of shills defending that move too.

Really, so that must be why they're depending on wireless so they can call it a done deal and move on to lining their pockets. Because building better lines to rural areas costs money, but wireless can cover that area with much less trouble.

As for "10 Mbps is plenty"... sure... for one person. For a family who wants to use the net all at the same time? not so much.

BTW I just noticed how appropriate your name is for what you just got done spewing.
