Just for the sake on the completionist end of Capcom ROM emulation... "Disney Afternoon Collection" they had Digital Eclipse do. It was again ROMs in a custom locked emulator. Some of the additional content however was content Capcom had never officially released and hadn't stored internally, but someone on the DE team had in their personal storage from when they had pirated Capcom games/archives when they were younger.

So if it weren't for piracy, the product Capcom was selling would have been less than it turned out to be. Kind of like how Netflix wouldn't have become what it was if it weren't for piracy. DAC did at least clean up the ROMs some, again I really wish they would do a MM1 - 6 release where the flicker and slowdown were removed, my guess is Capcom told DE to smarten up with DAC so they wouldn't have a direct line drawn from their ROMs/emulation package vs. the opensource versions again (MMLC1 would have been better if they had done this as well and had the "authenticity" slowdown/flicker as a Legacy toggle like what MM9/10 allow).

I prefer to buy my games, and it's ludicrous to judge the job they are doing with the collection before it's even out.

True on that. You did go over the differences in the previous collections and I overlooked that, sorry.

On that topic, I find it endlessly hilarious SNES9x code was blatantly stolen for the Bubsy collection outright.

OK. I got confirmation that Capcom Japan developed MMLC2, which explains why it's so much higher quality than MMLC1.

Digital Eclipse (who did the simple ROM dumps for MMLC1 and DAC) are also doing the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.

Devs are probably a little bitter about people providing their work for free for so many years. Taking the work pirates did, charging for it and not giving them a cent is a bit of a finger back that way.

I do hope it's Capcom Japan doing the X re-release(s), or if they split it into two at least have them do the first one where the quality games would lie. MMLC2 is just so much higher quality than what MMLC1 or DAC are, it again actually *improves* on anything previous versions had provided, emulation or otherwise. DE is a simple "ROMs in emulators" hut for jobs you don't care about or quick cashgen products I guess. Why I am not as enthused as I was for the upcoming Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection now that I know it's DE working on it and not an A-Team from Capcom themselves.
