I have a core I7-6700K @ 4ghz processor
16gb ram (DDR 4)
1080 ti
Asus ROG Swift 279q monitor

The 970 gtx was the only major piece of hardware I was able to carry over from my PC that died about a year and a half a ago.

Overall my impression is meh! The medium settings in games like Battlefront 2 (2017), Witcher 3, etc. that I could run well on my 970 gtx don't look all that much worse than the ultra with great framerates that I get out of the new card.

I don't regret it because I just like the feeling that I'm at the top tier in terms of PC's but honestly it wasn't a game changer to get the new card.

I feel the same way about nowadays high tier hardware in general. When generations change it is not nearly as game changing as it once was.

Weird. I noticed a huge jump from 1070 to 1080ti. I can do Ultra in everything with 80+ frames at 1440p.

Maybe I'm just more receptive to graphical upgrades or frame rate differences.

you need to set it to a higher resolution to see the difference

You will not notice the Ultra setting in the 970 over the 1080ti, cause they are both on ULTRA lol. But you will notice the FPS increase and your able to do 4k now with the 1080ti.

That's because you're probably playing in 1080p... which is dumb on a 1080ti lol.
You should be doing 144HZ/1440P to take full advantage and that sir IS a game changer.
