I got 16gb of ddr4 3200 for $105 in February, that same ram is over $200 for 16gb. I've been wanting to bump up to 32gb but after seeing the huge price increase in the last 6-9 months I am waiting it out.

I think it's reasonable for prices to come back down. RAM was really expensive a few years ago after a factory (I think it was Hynix) caught on fire, and prices came back down steadily afterward.

It will probably be a year before prices come down if they come down at all.

It really is mind boggling how the reduction in supply and shift to dumping resources into non-desktop RAM applications can really shoot the market up. Sooner or later you'd think they demand would be realized and production shift back at least a little bit.

Just checked since everyone else was...The Corsair Vengence 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz DDR4 kit I paid $118 for on January 26th, 2017, is now $215. For the exact same kit. The same model in 2x16GB is $445. Absolutely crazy.

Everything PC is jacked up. Monitors, Ram, SSD's Video cards. AMD wants double msrp for thier 2nd tier cards. Freesync monitors are fine priced but you then have to pay double for a card that nvidia blows away for way less.

Definitely crazy...

Paid $67.99 for my G Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3000 Mhz (2x8GB) 16GB kit in Sep 2016 on Newegg.

Now it's $199.99 for the same kit...

Looking to do a new computer build next month but I'mma just keep pushing along with my 16GB kit even though I want to upgrade to 32GB (Video Editing). $400-$500 is ridiculous. I'd rather put $500 towards CPU, GPU, Monitor, a large SSD, maybe even some high end headphones/headset but not RAM...

Wanted to snag G Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB (4x8GB) 3000 or 3200 Mhz but I can't with the prices :[ Hope they come down soon enough. I'll probably look into buying Next Fall/Winter.
