The games will actually be streamed to the shield and not downloaded.

Thoughts? weird seeing xbox input commands on Nintendo games. They should just port their library to steam.

Never going to happen in a billion years. Nintendo is super protective about their IP's and only a few times in the past 20+ years have they ever allowed Nintendo IP's to appear on non-nintendo hardware. I'm still shocked that they made mario run and animal crossing pocket park for mobile phones and tablets. Yet they shut down any fan made games featuring nintendo IP's within days of the game being made. Even if they aren't going to make a single penny from it.

Think it depends on the game. Don't think you gonna be playing Witcher 3 on it unless streamed.

It is true

[Update: A description page on Nvidia's Chinese site suggests the Wii games in question are run via streaming through Nvidia's Geforce Now service, rather than through emulation directly on the Shield hardware. This complicates the idea that the Shield is being used as a test run for any Switch virtual console efforts. The mere existence of remastered, HD versions of classic Wii titles, though, suggests Nintendo may have further plans for these games than just basic emulation.]

Man, this completely contradicts the news article that the games were running native on the shield.

So this very well could be emulation with wide-screen hacks and texture-hacks for new input icons?

Either way, I don't think Switch will be getting "VC" for gamecube. That generation will probably get proper ports.

Edit: My reasons for believing this is non-existent.
