You think buying pre-owned ram is fine?

Is DDR5 even a thing yet?

It exists for GPUs... but that's it at the moment.

GPUs use GDDR VRAM, which is different from DDR. I believe GDDR is a highly specialized RAM optimized specifically for graphics while regular DDR is more general use.

It's advertised as DDR5

That's all I was saying.

I wasn't suggesting you could pull the ram off of a GPU and somehow work it on your motherboard or anything else.

You asked if DDR5 exists and I answered

Depends on:

How much
What speeds
DDR4 or DDR5
How old is it?

Did that person amp the voltage up? There would be no way to tell but usually RAM lasts forever.

If it's cheap and what you need then go for it.

DDR3 $100 for 16gb. All I can get without upgrading my motherboard. Said it was barely used.

Don’t take mucloud seriously and definitely don’t believe any of his posts. They are ALWAYS chock full of misinformation.

Advertised incorrectly tbh.

It's important to know what the rules are first, so that, when you decide to break them, you can better judge the effect.
