I don't own a ps4 and was looking at it on steam since it's on sale for about $40 right now. But I legit see nothing but hate on the first page of steam reviews saying "the game is good but with no promised patches it's bad." And people saying that the technical problems on PC makes the game suffer. Are the technical problems really that bad on pc?

I have a i5 4590
GTX 1050ti
8GB ram

Would I have a bunch of issues playing the game?

It works for some and doesn't work for others. You can refund if it doesn't work for you.

You practically need the fanmade patch to have good performance, unless you have a mid-to-high tier card.

...just use the FAR mod. It's not hard. One of the best game of the year and everyone is stubborn about not playing it just because Squenix sucks.

Well, your GPU in particular is a bit below minimum spec, so I really doubt it will run very well. Unless you follow the above advice of downloading the patch (Which is recommended anyway just to get proper fullscreen mode), and really crank settings down to sub-minimum.

Personally, I played it from launch and the only issue I had was having to use Borderless Gaming to get the game to render fullscreen properly (There is/was a bug that meant fullscreen rendered like 720p internally, no matter what). Other than that I didn't have any issues with the game, in 50-60 hours of play. But I also played it on a 6700K and GTX1070, 16GB RAM system.

The issues on the forums are, IMO, overblown, but the game is still more demanding than it probably should be and does require fairly high specs to run without flaws, based on what I've seen and friends I've talked to.

Well now, fan made patches are pretty decent.

I mean I played 60 hours of what was supposedly awful to play but with the Dark Souls DSfix it worked fine. And as other posters here said, you can always refund it.

The issue with the game is the minimum gfx setting is not very minimum. FAR mod allow to reduce the GFX setting further.

The game doesn't crash at all on a lot of hardware configuration & you won't likely never see a single glitch or bug thorough the gameplay.

GPU performance gain is scalable & the game is well optimized performance wise.

Never had a single problem but the game is not that great and is highly overrated
