Anachronox, Arcanum, Planescape: Torment, The Temple of Elemental Evil, Ultima Underworld 1 and 2, Arx Fatalis, Baldur's Gate 1,2 , Icewind Dale 1,2 , Nox, Gothic 1,2,3 (maybe 4). Also, the popular series like Wizardry, Might and Magic, Elder Scrolls and Fallout need not be mentioned.

The following have all been well known over the years, but as time goes by they fall into obscurity, at least outside of their cult communities.

Jagged Alliance 2 (1.13 overhaul, speaks for itself)
Silent Storm (Russian tactics game)
Fallout: Tactics (isn't considered canon - spin-off)
Divine Divinity (across between Diablo and Baldur's Gate)
Vampire Bloodlines (wesp patch)
Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor (patch the game and use the combat speed-up mod)
Drakensang (German RPG ruleset)
Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader (first 20% is great, last 80% is horrendous)
Darklands (this game had real-time with pause before Baldur's Gate)
Dark Sun (unique setting, pity more RPGs didn't employ it)
Betrayal at Krondor (wonderful writing and characters)

Google "RPG Codex's top 70 RPG's of all time" (too lazy to link it), and it has obviously 70 of the very best that you might have overlooked.

Really enjoyed Expeditions: Conquistadors. It's a new turn-based tactical game, like FFT, Blackguards, or this DOS game that everyone is posting about. Outside of combat, you're an explorer. You run into a lot of random events, like a rogue-like.
... even on Earth Mode.

I second both Aarklash: Legacy & Expeditions: Conquistador.

Confrontation - set in same universe as Aarklash
Mars:War Logs - worth it if you can find it on sale
Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing - pretty good ARPG
King's Bounty games - Tactical combat
Skyborn - SNES throw back, well done
It's time to add PS4 & Xbox One/Xbone to the banned list on the PC board.

Divinity Original Sin has been really overlooked lately. I don't think people are taking it seriously.
