I still have my CD-I but it's been years now since I hooked it up. I used to play it more often, mostly for Mario Hotel. But when the battery save in mine died it kinda killed the fun since I can't save games anymore.

I opened mine up and found where the battery was on the main board. It was soldered into a plastic box of some sort that makes replacement near impossible. Years ago, when it first died, I found where someone successfully replaced theirs by breaking that thing open and getting the battery out and soldering in a new one but it looked like such a pain and also comes with potential to wreck the CD-I in the process so I decided not to bother.
