Hello all.

I don't know if this has been documeted before, but I'd like to share something interesting that happened to me.

I decided to try digivolve Numemon to Monzaemon naturally, so I did the Tanemon glitch in order to get as much stats as possible before digivolving it to Palmon. I digivolved it at 10 days of age.

After I got the stats around the 400s, I reduced i'ts weight to 1, and kept the discipline/ hapinnes bars under the required amount for it's normal lines in order to force it to digivolve to Numemon.

However, as soon as my Palmon reached the 15 days of age, it faded away.

I believe this happened because, normally, when a champion reach that age it will automatically digivolve to Vademon, but because my digimon was still a rookie it didn't fit any criteria for it to digivolve, causing it to fade away.

I don't know if feeding a chain melon or a Digi Seabass would have prolonged it's life span because I didn't consider feeding it those itens at the time.

Every Digimon has a base lifetime of 360 hours which gets affected by multiple different events. Naturally evolving to ultimate adds 96 hours to it (evolution items don't count and disable this lifetime game until you restart your console!), Digiseabass 3, Chainmelon 20.

DV Chips detracts 24, passing an hour 1 (duh) and at every by 4 dividable hour an additional penalty is detracted based on your happiness:

81 to 100 = 0h
31 to 80 = 1h
-19 to 30 = 2h
-69 to - 20 = 3h
-100 to - 70 = 4h

yep.... and that fading away nonsense I'd exactly what deterred me before when I played it. it's the only mechanic I can't stand. doing all that work for training to get a champion for what.... an hour? I use gameshark codes that gives me infinite chain melons to extend their life. I do like the game but that's the only mechanic they shouldn't have added.

chain melons will definitely extend their life. I think it's by a few hours but the more you feed them the melons the more their life will be extended by

It's based on tamigotchi/digi pets. It is the best possible adaptation of it. They aren't supposed to be around forever, it's the whole point. Once you have the hang of the digi requirements it is easy to get the Digimon you want again.

Otherwise it is like Next Order where you can make boatloads of money and eat lifespan increasiing food to the point where you get kinda sick of having the same ones around for so long.

Exactly. It's a trap I fell into. I have my favourites, yay! I'm close to maxing their stats, yay!

...oh, they're still here?
Oh, they're STILL here?
I've made a huge mistake.
