it didnt, id say mostly because it wasnt done at EVO (but rather at super arcade?) and the audience for Tekken wasnt nearly as large back then, but its one of those moments that lore wise has gained more cult fame over the years as channels like AvoidingThePuddle have linked to it and given it more exposure
It, and Knee the player, did seemingly launch thousands of Bryan labbers who would try the character out in future games, though the tracking of Taunt would be nerfed in the next game
With Knee being the undisputed #1 player in the world in 2018, clips like this have been brought back into the limelight a bit, theres a few other versions of it that can be found online

Tekken is def a hard game, but its very rewarding. Lots of OGs played both games back in the day, including Alex Valle, Ryan Hart and Tokido. Some more contemporary players like Aris and fellow Taunt Jet Upper master MrNaps also are experienced Street Fighter players. Its dope seeing both SFV and Tekken 7 doing well in 2018
