My laptop specs are:
Core i7-3610QM 4-Core 2.3GHz
NVidia GeForce GTX 660M
8 GB RAM

According to all sites my setup should be enough to run this game yet I still big problems with the game. I also have all non-vital applications closed to make room for the games CPU usage. I also run a gaming booster as well and optimized the game using the NVidia driver.

Everything is on low, V-sync off, all AAs off and the game looks like s***, but still fun. The game runs fine at first then the framerate drops and gameplay feels like its underwater. I bench marked the game and highest its gone to was 25 fps then plummets to 14.

Are there any other suggestions to make this game run smoother? I feel like I wasted my money on another computer game I was supposed to be able to run but can't.

I think...the CPU is what's bogging you down, though I'm not sure to be honest. Would like to hear someone's else's thoughts.

Since it's a laptop, it could be something as simple as it's overheating. Laptops aren't really designed with hardcore gaming in mind and usually have poor cooling systems to save space.

Yeah it does get hot but no hotter than when I play Skyrim or Fallout. You think placing a fan close to the cooling will help?

Is it feeling really hot? The other poster might be on to something because my laptop's specs are almost identical to yours other than my CPU, which is slightly better, but I'm able to run it on medium settings online for several hours just fine. The worst that usually happens is the loading screens start to get longer. I think my laptop has better cooling than most since its designed as a "gaming laptop" though.

Otherwise, might be the CPU. It doesn't look like yours quite meets the requirements for minimum settings.

I highly doubt it's the cpu since it's an Ivy Bridge that turbos to 3.1ghz for 4 cores. It's more than likely the bugged Nvidia mobile drivers. I got the same cpu in my laptop and the game runs bad for me to.

Play in a well ventilated area and look I to picking up a fan mat. I used a fan mat with my old laptop and it was the best $30 I spent at the time.

I put a fan next to my laptop's vent and the game is working MUCH better. If I can get the graphics to also improve I'm golden.

I also have another problem though. When I do my first jewelry heist the game crashes everytime I aim a gun while on a vehicle.

Every game I get aside from Fallout and Skyrim always had issues downloading, performance or bugs no wonder pirating is so popular.

Check to see if your computer is running any other processes in the background; that would cause issues like that.
