Ed is the best character (closely followed by Spike)

this list is not at all what I expected
Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar
PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ https://goo.gl/Diw2hs
I was pretty surprised with how relatively minor Ed ended up being in the grand scheme of things. That really helped her become more endearing imo.
I've decided to put my fears behind me. I'm not going back.

20. Honky Tonk Women
Total: 209 pts.

Wickle - 3
Karo - 14
Snake - 15
Stifled - 15
KBM - 16
Inviso - 17
Ermine - 19
scarlet - 19
JONA - 20
Gen - 23
charon - 24
Johnbobb - 24

Wickle - So we meet Faye and… the meeting does not disappoint. She immediately defines herself as this new age version of a gypsy. She’s an outlaw and a cheat, and seems to have gained a little respect from Spike, judging his response to hearing that she might be in the area. Was good to have an episode without a bounty being hunted, not that they’re bad, but it’s good to get a breather.

Karo - This episode is the intro of Faye, an amoral con woman who is being forced to work at a space casino by gangsters. Spike and Jet are not actually after a bounty at first they are at the casino because they are low on cash and apparently gambling is the only thing they can think of to remedy the situation.
There is a lot of good interactions between her and the other two and these are the highlight of the episode, its a very middle of the road kind of thing.

Snake - Honky Tonk Women finally feels like a truly complete episode. I love the first scene with Faye, establishing her character as a sexy, tough, and skilled badass, yet also with a comedic streak that keeps her character fresh and hilarious. I like the way Spike bounces off of her, and I also feel like Jet is starting to become his own character too, as we get some clues into his backstory and also his new relationship with Ein. I really like the final sequence which mixes comedy and action really well, and the ending feels bittersweet with Faye getting away. Even though I know we will obviously see her again, if she didn’t return, I feel like she made a big impact regardless.

Stifled - Faye gets an exciting debut episode with tons of action and casino hijinx. I’m a big fan of casinos in different forms of media (except that lame one from The Last Jedi), so the setting already got me excited for the episode. Faye comes off like such a cool customer in her debut, pulling off some really crazy maneuvers to evade capture. While we see her come down to earth a bit with her awful luck later on, it was cool seeing her leave a badass first impression.

KBM - A solid introduction to the lovely Ms. Faye Valentine, along with some great visuals, helps to offset a plotline that centers around a confusing MacGuffin (the vaguely-defined poker/computer chip) and a setup full of silly coincidences (thank god Faye just happened to be waiting for someone who looked almost exactly like Spike, AND just happened to have a malfunctioning monitor!). Definitely not one of my favorites in the series as it is for some, but Faye's introduction obviously yields some great things down the line.

Inviso - I don’t know if this series just isn’t working for me or what, but I LIKE Firefly, and Spike is a lovable rogue type of character. But for whatever reason, I guess the short runtime of the episodes doesn’t allow for a lot for the level of characterization that I tend to enjoy. You’ve got Spike and Jet, and they’re at a casino and randomly get swept up in some bulls*** scams. And we meet Faye, and some other s*** goes down involving a plot that isn’t well-developed, because again, we get involved so quickly in it. I just don’t know.

Ermine - Wasn't really feeling this episode overall, especially coming off of Stray Dog Strut. Humor was pretty low and pacing of the episode just kinda felt sluggish. I usually enjoy casino and gambling themed episodes in other cartoons/shows but this just felt kinda lackluster as a whole. Faye is an interesting character but I don't really have that great of an opinion of her yet. Overall I'd say slightly below average... definitely needed more Ein!

5.5/10

scarlet - Although the whole setup that leads Faye to getting captured by Spike and Jet is a little far fetched in how it unfolds, it's still very entertaining, very funny, and it provides a great introduction to Faye as a character, whose backstory becomes a major part of the story's plot.
Rating: 78/100

JONA - The first scene of the episodes introduces Faye and it's a great introduction. It shows Faye's seductive ways and how she tries to be cool but still ends up being in trouble. The animation in that scene is great too and shows how Faye moves in a seductive way too and I liked how all the stuff breaking looked. I always liked the aesthetic of casinos, so it was cool to see a futuristic casino. I dig the giant roulette wheel around the spaceship. I liked Spike's odd skill of swallowing and regurgitating coming into play twice here. Spike's casino fight and the the deal are both cool scenes but my favorite part of the episode is Faye's interactions with Spike, Jet and Ein. They just have an immediate great chemistry and dynamic. Solid, fun introductory episode for Faye.

Favorite Song: Piano Black, but N.Y. Rush is great too.

Gen - This session introduces a protagonist that frustrates me on numerous levels. Even after she's given some backstory expanding focus sessions much later on I can't say I'm a fan of the current Faye. She's a thief, a liar, and a con-artist even if she has her reasons for being so, and I am thoroughly against gambling addictions in general. Even still I can't say her antics aren't entertaining for the wrong reasons, as is Spike's amazingly gross talent of swallowing things whole and cough them up at his convenience. Gordon and especially his goons are idiots I've gotta say. That casino chip plan was never gonna be sound with so many variables to consider, Faye being the least predictable of all.

charon - Faye's introductory episode isn't a grand one and through no fault of their own, her worst qualities as a character are presented first. One is to think she's simply that episode's one off villain after all. I did enjoy the false exchange scene in space but at the same time I was questioning by the end why Spike and Jet didn't just take the chip and sell it somewhere since it was still in their possession. Certainly it's worth something to someone, somewhere. This is just one of those times I felt the show ended with them broke for the sake of it.

Johnbobb - The episode gets some credit for introducing Faye, and it wasn't a bad episode by any means, but just kind of forgettable in the grand scheme, in part due to the use of the extremely overused "two people bump into each other and accidentally swap their identical items" cliche.

Mickayla's thoughts:
Faye really isn't that interesting of a character.

Seems about right. My favorite exchange in this session was Ein being the only one to take Faye seriously when she was claiming that as a Romani she needs to be wild and free. Them howling was cute.

That would be pretty out of character for Jet imo
