Can't help but think of when the Marlins celebrated Jose Fernandez's life in a similar way, and Dee Gordon, of all people, hit that home run.

It doesn’t end there. So many interesting stats about that game/Tyler.

Wheeler to the DL with what sounds like 'dead arm'.

Awfully convenient timing considering he was the only real trade chip they had worth trading. This kind of sounds like the Wilpons faked an injury on purpose for him because they knew healthy they were gonna get a mostly cash/bad prospect return so now if they do wind up trading him they can justify that behavior. I'm like 99% sure this is their line of thinking, without even caring that an injury hurts his trade value and the value they'd get back. Could also be because they don't want him to have any more implosions (again, not thinking).

The timing is just too perfect to be anything other than fake. There was no prior indication he had any other injury and he's just going on with fatigue, not a real injury.

f*** the Wilpons. Sell the team.

Also, maybe making him throw like 120 pitches his last start was a bad idea?
He's thrown the 6th most pitches in baseball, for a guy who has far from a slate of clean arm health. He averages 104 pitches per start, which is 4th in MLB.

This f***ing org literally does everything as wrong as f***ing possible. Intentional or otherwise. Ownership incompetency like none other. MAYBE DON'T f***ING FORCE YOUR TRADE CHIP TO WEAR OUT HIS ARM BEFORE THE ALL-STAR BREAK

f***ing hell. I don't really know if it was intentional or not, but I'm sure they're happy they have a built in excuse now for whatever cash and awful prospect they'll now get for him, when before it was just gonna be the same awful prospect but with more cash- the team doesn't see the cash either way

Can't believe Travis d'Arnaud is a Yankee killer.

Giants score 19 today.

They couldn't pace those out a bit maybe?

I saw him at Citi Field a couple months ago in what I believe was his last game as a Met and he looked beyond pathetic at the plate. Good for him that he's now on a better team and playing much better. But the Yankees shouldn't be letting him beat them.
