No one I know would ever play this with me, so is it not worth getting?

I loved it solo however I think multiplayer would be even better

Shooters are usually easier solo. Much more predictable. Potentially fewer bullets/enemies.

I have been playing this mostly solo and having a blast, played co-op once and I actually preferred solo.

It's a great party game since most of the levels are quite short and there's many ship playstyles to cater to everyone.

There's lots of things to do solo as well, with all the challenges and gauntlet modes.
