The Racism In This Games Online Community Is Crazy

Its nuts. My character in GTA Online is black and I joined a random race. All the other players had mics and they were surprised to see a black guy enter their bike race. They then said to "watch out for the black guy. He is going to shoot and rob us." They after the bike race I stayed and I joined a team deathmatch with those other players. All the players started taking bets and said"the black guy is going to win." I don't know how to feel about this.

Maybe it's just joking and you aren't meant to take it seriously? I make jokes about everything all the time. Sometimes people get butthurt over it but whatever. I just like to laugh at things even if it involves me so it's their problem if they can't take some jokes.

And to be honest, whether or not people are guilty or commenting, it's not like we have the context that TC would for the situation. We don't know tonal cues or anything that may have been present when these things were said. All we have is words. And a lot of communication is dictated by tonal cues and all rather than just the words being said. Hell, this whole topic could just be a joke for all we know.
