Oculi are gemstones that you will find throughout the land of Lemuria. They can be found from Coffers spread throughout the world, as well as from random enemy drops. There are 9 different colours of Oculi (plus 1 special kind), and each comes in one one of 4 sizes. Every one of your characters can equip up to 3 Oculi at a time, and the effect it has is based on its colour and size, as well as which one of the three equip slots you place it in (Weapon, Armour, Timeline).

The 9 types of Oculi are Sapphire (dark blue), Ruby (red), Emerald (green), Tourmaline (light blue), Amethyst (purple), Citrine (yellow), Diamond (white), Onyx (black), and Spinel (gold).

The 4 sizes of Oculi are Rough, Tumbled, Faceted, and Brilliant. The larger the stone, the stronger its effect.

At any time in the Oculi menu you can choose to merge your Oculi together. Merging 2 or 3 Oculi of the same size and different colours will result in a new colour of the same size. Merging 3 Oculi of the same colour and size will result in an Oculi of the same colour and the next size up. Oculi of different sizes cannot be combined. When merging Oculi of different colours the result will depend on what you used:

Sapphire (dark blue) + Emerald (green) = Tourmaline (light blue)
Sapphire (dark blue) + Ruby (red) = Amethyst (purple)
Ruby (red) + Emerald (green) = Citrine (yellow)
Sapphire (dark blue) + Ruby (red) + Emerald (green) = Diamond (white)
Tourmaline (light blue) + Amethyst (purple) + Citrine (yellow) = Onyx (black)
Diamond (white) + Onyx (black) = Spinel (gold)

The Princess Stone is a special Oculi that can only be formed by merging:
Brilliant Diamond (white) + Brilliant Onyx (black) + Brilliant Spinel (gold).
Attempting to merge smaller sizes will not create a Princess Stone.

These are all of the colour combinations. Also, it should be noted that you cannot make a Diamond by merging say an Amethyst (purple, which is dark blue + red) with an Emerald (green). That does not work.

Weapon-Attacks have a 10% chance to cause paralysis for 3 seconds.
Armour-Reduce magical damage by 10%
Timeline- Increase magic by 4.

Faceted
Weapon-Attacks have a 15% chance to cause paralysis for 6 seconds.
Armour-Reduce magical damage by 15%
Timeline- Increase magic by 8.

Brilliant
Weapon-Attacks have a 20% chance to cause paralysis for 6 seconds.
Armour-Reduce magical damage by 20%

Armour-Increase speed by 10% for 1 turn when interrupted.
Timeline-Begin every turn 5% forward on the Timeline.

Tumbled
Weapon-Increase attack power by 20%.
Armour-Increase speed by 20% for 1 turn when interrupted.
Timeline-Begin every turn 10% forward on the Timeline.

Faceted
Weapon-Increase attack power by 25%.
Armour-Increase speed by 30% for 1 turn when interrupted.
