Does anyone happen to know where this engine comes from?

It's available for all of the RUFs, all Subarus including the Toyobaru, and the original Beetle.

I believe it's 3.6L, and (to my ears) sounds more like a Porsche than a Subaru.

What's the torque figure, and the redline, peak power RPM, peak torque RPM, or any other stats you can find? I'll have a dig through the previous games for it.
Fixing Turn10's omissions since 2007, and Playground Games' since 2012.

355 hp, 295 torque, 3.8l - would appear to match a 997 Porsche engine.

Multiple displacements are given-

Menu lists it as 3.0, stats either 3.6 or 3.8. Can't tell for sure.

Redline is around 7000, maybe a hair higher. Fuel cutoff roughly 7500.

Naturally apsirated.

sounds like either an N/A Scooby Legacy Flat 6 or more likely a porker.

It's Naturally Aspirated, but all of the upgrades and it's Turbo aspiration conversion are free, so I think it's an unofficial Porsche engine kit to allow you to build a number of different Porsche facsimiles (when combined with RUFs) to make up for the fact that Turn 10 can't get the Porsche license this time around.

You can probably approximate a few different stock Porsche engines and stock Porsche cars by mixing and matching the different engine parts and drivetrain swaps with Rufs, if you cared enough about Porsche to miss them and want to drive close approximations in Forza 5.

I wish they had put the Ruf 3400s in there. Always was a Boxer fan...
Sometimes I honestly think that Online is the WORST thing that ever happened to gaming.
