Not sure what your deck looks like, but the key is the bring only your best cards into a match. I limit my fighting units to 22 and don't bring any weather cards; just some decoys, scorched, and horns.
Peace is nice. Peace is nice. Peace is better than CHICKEN AND RICE!!!!!
From someone who just discovered the joys of gwent a month ago:
The northern kingdoms deck is the best for the ff reasons: It’s versatile Mostly complete Most missing cards can be bought or found instead of won Bonuses are awesome (extra cards after winning a round, free clear weather)
Get: Thaler Djikstra Reavers Catapults Commandos
Make sure to help Zoltan & choose the cards as a reward.
You should check all general merchants/inn keepers you stumble upon for if they sell some gwent cards. If I recall correctly some innkeeper in Velen is selling two decoy cards which are very useful.
A general tip I can give is to basically sacrifice the first or second round with baiting the opponent to put out as many cards as possible while you just use your junk + spy cards so that he has used a good chunk of his decks strength and you can beat him in the other rounds more easily.
For collect em all, do you need to literally beat everyone in the game that plays gwent?
I've looked at the wiki and I still dont understand. The book of gwent currently says 5/7/6/9 for me. Can someone please tell me how the 1st 3 numbers differ from the 4th?
Also are there any other gwent quests besides the 3 area ones, old pals, and high stakes?
I've looked up missable cards and think I'm good. But any tidbits on that subject would also be appreciated. I need to do the trapped merchant my next session. Did any of you have problem with not being able to interact with him? And did meditating fix it?
