Although if it's gone in Mario Kart 9 then I wouldn't be too upset but yeah Mario Bike Wii wasn't that thrilling.

bikes are not really overpowered even if fire hopping did not exist. I beat 2 nin expert times that uses heavy/inside drift as baby without firehopping .. so...

I do not think one drifting style has any real advantage over the other, just the timing is different when to start and such.

Inward drift handling was nerfed hard in this game. If anything they're underpowered by comparison to everything else. It doesn't help that the second-highest handling can be achieved by the Standard Bike, and it'll always corner better than inward drift on Rainbow Road.

Also, before fire hopping was common, karts were used pretty much everywhere in time trials anyway. The bikes would've probably been fairly balanced or very slightly underpowered.

They need to bring wheelies back. I miss those.

Fire Hoppings makes little difference, chances are it wouldn't matter whether it was gone or not.

They make about as much difference as the difference between lap times of a Flame Runner compared to a Quacker - around one second a lap.

Lol try and beat a WR TT without fire hopping. You'll see how "little difference" it makes.
