Im ok with pop ups. Sites have to make money.

A lot of the ads on your mobile site don't just pop up. They force a page change. Even worse it keeps happening over and over again when it does.

Im going tp type a post and the page just changes on its own to congratulations you've been selected by walmart or samsung, or it fake warns something about my phone etc.

This is really annoying. Please fix this. Its really damaging the usablility of the site itself.

The site is literally unusable on mobile. I can't finish typing a post - I attempted 4 times before saying f*** it and typing this on my desktop. I get the same ads, of course. I have a Note 8 if that matters, because a friend of mine doesn't get the same ads.

Please fix this, it's worse than porn site from the mid 2000s with intrusive ads right now

Already talked to the ad folks a few times this week and mentioned that the number of mobile complaints is on the rise again. Considering no one's actually using the Report Ad link at the bottom of the site, there is basically nothing to work with aside from anecdotes.

Yes, I realize that if an ad were to redirect you then you wouldn't be able to click it, but you also have to realize that these things are nearly impossible to reproduce without being able to see patterns in os/browser/location/etc. If you can actually use the Report Ad link, it's even better because we capture all of the ads that were loaded for you when you click it, which often means we have the exact ad identified and can very quickly remove it.

I know a lot of people here like to talk about how it's just a super rampant problem and how it makes no sense that we can't find and stop it, but that isn't how malicious advertising works. I would direct you to this write up I did back in January: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/6-gamefaqs-announcements/76171603

Finally, I suppose it's worth stating that this is just as frustrating for me as it is for you. Without advertising, there isn't a GameFAQs, but they certainly are not supposed to be disrupting the user experience and we as a company do take these things very seriously. I have gone so far as to completely pull down advertising on the site when it has affected too many people and would have no qualms doing it again if it gets that far, but I don't have enough data to make a call that drastic right now. All I can do is urge everyone to use the Report Ad link. You can even just take a screenshot of the page you get redirected to and send us that. Anything to work with is better than nothing and we currently have zero reports filled out about redirects.

I did use that form.

https://www.webmasterworld.com/google_adsense/4894680.htm

This has a list of the sites(I only reported one in my report) and other people with similar issues. Maybe blocking the sites listed could help?

You could probably do a screen shot of the redirect and send it on the ticket. Dunno if that will help Allen, but at least it would give some info to help with research.

The response to the support ticket says all ads for android chrome users are disabled until it's resolved.

Big props to the staff.
