This FAQ is intended to serve as an introduction to what this board is designed for and to serve as a guide as to how to use this board. Site Suggestions is a board designed to gauge the general interest of an idea to improve the site before submitting it to the administration for further consideration. From there, the idea can either be decided upon by the administrator or placed on The Future of GameFAQs, a more formal version of Site Suggestions. Before making a suggestion here, please review The Future of GameFAQs to ensure that it hasn't already been brought up.

Additionally, please review this board to ensure that your request and/or idea has not already been suggested. Moderators do patrol this board to ensure that only the petitions that may be brought up for future consideration remain open for use in an attempt to keep the board as uncluttered as possible.
Suggestions are traditionally introduced to this board in the way of petitions. If you are creating a petition, please be detailed and thorough in explaining what you would like added to the site and how it will impact and improve the site.
Users generally respond in three ways:
-Signing the petition - just like it sounds, these users agree with your suggestion and wish to add their name in support
-Anti-signing the petition - these users disagree with the idea, and are encouraged (but not required) to explain the reason(s) for their disagreement
-Conditionally signing the petition - these users like the idea in theory, but have suggestions of their own to improve upon it and would like to see them implemented if the petition were to pass
All of these opinions should be considered while gauging the general interest in your idea, as all are equally valid. Vehemently arguing against anyone who disagrees with your suggestion and discarding their opinion is a quick way to have your petition closed and removed from further consideration.
Please also remember these simple guidelines when you offer your suggestion, as some ideas are not entirely open for consideration.
1) Any petition involved in changing the Terms of Use of this site will automatically be rejected. Changing the ToU is generally a lengthy process handled by the administration and owners of this site in coordination with the legal team. Petitions will not serve to change the rules due to that fact.
2) This board is not for complaining about moderators or moderations in any way. Regardless of whether or not you feel that you were unfairly moderated or don't like a moderator in particular or the moderator staff in general, petitions about your grievances in this matter will not be considered.
3) Petitioning for board splits in any fashion will not be regarded. Social boards are by and large not created anymore under any circumstances, and online/trade boards and the like are created if the game board itself is unable to handle these requests. The moderator staff does keep on top of these issues to recommend new boards to the administration, so petitions in this vein are not necessary.
4) When the website or the message boards are changed (be it new features, a site redesign, etc.), do not petition to undo the changes and revert the site to its previous state. These will automatically be rejected. Petitions to improve upon the new features may be considered on a case by case basis.
