I know the obvious, like poison, fire, and burn, but do any other status effects...effect them? Like confusion perhaps?

I believe it is only non-volatile status, as such stuff that appears as an icon next to your HP bar.
I believe that a rest-talk set can also take advantage of those abilities.
Hypothetically, a pokemon with freeze on may have a speed boost to its action attempt, as the speed change would last until all actions for the turn are taken, but the guts boost would be irrelevant in that situation, as the attack boost would immediately fade after thawing.
Would you like to hear a bit about the wondrous shoopuf?

ah ok its like i thought. Usually Bulbapedia specifies that type of stuff. i dont really like rest-->sleep talk cause it can cause the pokemon to use rest...which is pointless.
