Terrible, inconsistent framerate that hovers between 30-40fps

If you're limited to console, go with Xbox One X for near flawless performance. Time to upgrade, people.

30-40 fps isn't 'terrible'

tc obviously never played on the nes or snes. or worse, the 32x.

30 to 40 fps more than enough.

Topic #137:

"Is it worth buying a buying an X over an S if I don't have a 4k TV?"

Poster 1: Nah. If you don't have a 4k TV there's no real benefit.

Better advice would be;

DON'T play Resident Evil 2 Remake on any console. PC is the superior version, makes the console versions look pretty mediocre when maxed out.

As a console gamer, your advice is useless. What version do you recommend for a console gamer?

I was a console gamer for nearly 30 years, moving to PC a couple years ago was the best move I ever made as a gamer. Xbox One & PS4 were the final nail in the coffin for me in regards to consoles, they're both pretty poor.

As for what console version to get, I'd say Xbox, but that's just because I fully dislike Sony. ;)

They really aren't, it was different 10+ years ago, but everything is pretty simplified now, I had more technical issues with my Xbox One & updates than I ever have since moving to PC. May be worth a look for you, if you think the complication is your biggest fear, that's a misconception carried over from when it was complicated years back.
