Does anyone know if the original version of Ninja Gaiden is backward compatible or only the Black version? I ask because I have the original version in storage and wanted to get it out if it is.
It's Black and vanilla probably won't ever go BC as NGB is vastly superior in every possible way.

This applies to all other games too as Morrowind GOTY edition which included the DLC expansions also does not work.

It might be worth popping in and trying the original Ninja Gaiden to see if it does dl Ninja Gaiden Black for you. Recently they made it so you can pop in the original, GTA: San Andreas (Xbox) and it will auto dl the 360 version for you to play on your XB1. So I don't see why Ninja Gaiden might not do the same type of thing.

Also....My GOTY Edition Morrowind disc DID dl the GOTY Edition onto my XB1. I'm actually expecting that popping in a regular edition of Morrowind would also dl you the GOTY versions on the XB1.

Vanilla NG and Black are almost completely different games with Black being the vastly superior version.

As for Morrowind, GOTY edition discs didn't originally work. I'm guessing they patched that since.

I saw a review on the on-line Xbox One store where someone mentioned they changed Morrowind to the GOTY Edition...like it may have been a later addition.

As for how different Ninja Gaiden is from Ninja Gaiden Black.....I don't think that would matter. As I stated...they made it so you can pop in your OG Xbox version of GTA: SA and it automatically dls the Xbox 360 version of GTA:SA (which is a completely different port). So it really doesn't matter if the games are the same at all. If MS wants the vanilla version of NG to play NGB I'm sure they could easily do that. I'm fairly sure they could use any game disc to use as a digital key if they wanted to. I mean these OG Xbox discs are only being used to tell the system what to dl and letting the system know you have the right to play that downloaded game. It's not like it is using any of the game code from the disc to even install anything.

Here are some details I found out about using Panzer Elite Action: Fields of Glory (PAL) discs on a US Xbox One.

I imported 2 different discs to the US. One was a PAL game from the UK and the other was a PAL game from Germany. It was the same multi-language manual and the same game disc from each country. The only difference was the text on the cover art (one being in English and the other in German).

When either disc was inserted in my US Xbox One, it gave the prompt to dl the game (update) and it dl a playable English language version of the game.

I see this game is still not listed in the US Xbox One store so I guess importing the PAL discs is the only way to play this one unless you have a Euro region account to dl it from the Euro Xbox store. I just figured I would relay this info so people would know and answer the biggest question I had which was if it mattered if I used a UK, French or German disc.....the answer seems to be no. The PAL discs are all the same and it will dl the same English version to your US Xbox One when inserted.
