If so that's a pretty low move, if I'm watching an event I would expect to see what the event actually showed even if it is a competitor's exclusive

Their Streaming Service, they can Broadcast what they want. They could Broadcast Hardcore Gay Porn if they wanted to.

There are certain things we expect as consumers. By that logic you could say a movie theater has the right to not air a movie because they own a theater

Pretty sure they do have, and fully exercise that right.

No as in you pay to go see a specific movie and they don't play it or play something else. Microsoft advertised that they were airing the Game Awards so I expect to see the Game Awards not their version of it

What are you talking about? Movie theaters do have that right. You think people barge in and force them to show movies?

And any service or network can show or advertise what they choose. It's their service.

They showed a tiny bit of the beginning and then a Wolfenstein II ad ran over it. Could just have been a mistake on some technical level though. They had no issues showing Bayonetta 3 and Death Stranding for example so I doubt it was to cover up something that wasn't coming to Xbox.

I can't believe you people are defending this. Yeah they can show whatever they want but to actually alter the footage itself? Are you ok with them doing that for anything? If you were watching a movie and they just spliced in scenes from another movie during it?

Just like some channels would rather broadcast more adverts over the commentators talking about the match after.
