Especially with a SSD. No need to go big on an SSD either. I have a 500gb with The Witcher 3 installed, Battlefield 1, and Elite Dangerous installed. I still have space for more games. This works for me because I'm not a big game hopper. When I want to play a game I just transfer from the internal to the SSD in under 15 minutes. I usually do that when I get home from work before I take a shower and cook.
Lubricant? I've been using it as hair gel >.>-BTB

no. they run faster since USB3 is faster than SATA2.

that being said, the difference is unnoticeable.
