  3. Console update mid game....whyyyyy

I saw a topic about an update happening midgame and thought it was unlikely. Was just playing Halo 5 on legendary mode 3 player and had to update during the battle at the end of the level.
Still could use the headset to chat but I'm gonna have to do that level again or I'll miss the achievement for it.

Anyway if you don't have the update try and force it through. You really don't want it interrupting you online or in the middle of something good.

One more thing proving how lame MS is. Not to mention the fact that all these updates later there's still no option to disable controller vibration entirely for all games.

MS is far from lame. It was just strangely unfortunate timing that I hope others can avoid.

The update released a couple days ago and you didn't allow it to install. You don't have it on instant on so it won't download while off and you didn't go into settings and install it so it finally decided to force the update.
I swear, next people will complain if they make a game with a sequel in mind.

So it worked fine to start the game and load a match, but suddenly his current console version isn't good enough to finish the match!? It should either force update on console boot or game boot, NEVER in the middle of a damn game! I swear these idiots learned from Bungie. I still remember Halo Reach popping warnings about having left too many matches in the middle of a match like they were purposely trying to get you killed.

Are you in the preview program? Because there was an update that went out last night for preview members. The patch notes for every update not only states when the update is available, but also gives the day / time when the console will receive the prompt to download that update.

For example:

If your console is in Instant-On mode, it will download and install the update and reboot to standby.

NOTE: Once the update is available, you can manually begin the update by launching the Guide and navigating to All Settings > System > Console info & updates.

If your console hasn’t downloaded and installed the update by 2:00 PM PDT 8/1/2016, you will be prompted to do so at that time.

If he hadn't left the system not updated for several days have happened. He has his self to blame. Won't be responding to you after this since you like arguing just to argue.

And you like defending flawed software implementation for no reason. Keep making excuses for MS's terrible programmers.

One more. I agree they should force updates on boot up but he still left the system un updated for several days.

I wasn't able to update my console until today. Updated it myself manually.
