Maybe play those first then? That will be the obvious indicator whether you should get DSM.

DAS3 is a bit of an awkward starting point, isn’t it? @Conquerer I bet TC could find SotFS(Scholar of the First Sin) for pennies which, both mechanically and story-wise, might be a bit less stressful than trying to swallow the whole of Souls lore or deal with how hard DaS1 can screw you over from the beginning of the game. #2 presents a great deal on the ways of exposing new players to the flavour of the wourld.
