I can't even pass the starting boat.

I used the claymore. But you can pretty much use anything. Use the gun for those fire-breathing heads. Make sure to equip the armor and accessories you pick up along the way.

I prefer super fun, creative, ground-breaking, extremely amazing masterpieces like Witcher 3, where grinding isn't necessary.

Grinding isn't necessary in Bloodstained... I love Witcher 3 too by the way.
Teenage angst has paid off well, now I'm bored and old.

As long as the devs cares about making the grind fun and not boring

So why don't you enlighten us how they've done that. With words, not a video.

The Igavania games are usually pretty good at making grindy easy... Especially with items that increase Drop rates and luck...

I found a nice endgame grinding spot that can get me like 150k+ gold in less that 30 minutes...

I actually wish bloodstained would give us more of a grind, it's extremely fun.

Bloodstained is a masterpiece, Witcher 3 is not.

f*** the gun, it sucks. In the boat area, I used the short sword. Even on the boss. Swords are always my weapons of choice in these Castlevania games. I already created the Nodachi sword and loving it.
Just use your fire-breathing magic that you acquired from those enemies. Or your shards. Balance it all out as your mp restores over time. Strategize when to use and when to conserve magic.

This game is a masterpiece and already one of the finest games I have played in recent memory and I'm just over 2 hours in. I just encountered the second boss - the human swordsman dude in red. I stopped there. I don't want to progress through this game too quickly - a testament to just how much I'm enjoying it. I want to spread it out and not rush through it.
