granted it wasn't a terrible translation clearly falcom thought it was though.

The redo was fine. The original localization actually had dialogue that was still half in Japanese in some parts. They rushed the living s*** out of it.

Now, I don't agree that NISA are terrible at localizing. They've done tons of localization that was far better than that, which people seem to not remember. You just can't let this kind of stuff slide these days. People don't forget the duds.

They only localized one Ys game and that was because xseed was busy with other projects

Pretty sure because they made a bid to exclusively localize Falcom titles.

I believe xseed never expressed any desire or intent to work on Trails of Cold Steel 3.

I would assume that has more to do with money and contracts than desire. Hence why XSEED staff went to NISA.

Kinda liked some if the weird translations better like "archazoic big hole" thought that was pretty funny.

Yea, sometimes those poor translations can be pure gold.

Disgaea aside, this is the company that publishes stuff like The Witch and the Hundred Knight and The Guided Fate Paradox

I've wondered for a long time how they've survived.

the witch and the hundred knight is good tho

Unfortunately NIS' localizations have always been quite buggy. The Witch and Hundred Knight on PS3 randomly crashed a lot, like every 15-30 minutes or so. It was so bad that I ended up having to return the game, and it made me lose interest in this series.

its a good NIS game and a bad NISA localization.

That was last gen. I've been asking and there's no sign they've had a buggy PS4 game.

i had issues with infinite loading screens and a few freezes when playing witch and the hundred knight revival
