100" Sony Z9D because it's been the best TV since late 2016 and even now it holds its own against the newest best TVs.

Replacing it in August with a Samsung MLED TV because nothing's gonna beat that, no LCD LED TV nor OLED TV. MLED is the ultimate TV tech and I'm so excited for it!

I need to see how MLED looks in person.

I've yet to see it in person, but from what I've read and watched regarding it...it's insane. Looks like OLED, but better because it has all the brightness of LCD LED. Also blacks are as black as OLED since each pixel is self emissive. No worry of burn in and viewing angle is excellent like OLED.

Have no idea about motion or input lag but I imagine those to be acceptable.

Won't be affordable to the masses for a few years unfortunately.

Yeah, it sounds great.

That's fine by me, by the time MLED stuff is cheaper I'll be ready to upgrade. For the time being I'll be enjoying my current set.
... and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' And I'll look down, and whisper 'No.'

Sony 900E "75

Best tv I ever purchased. One thing to remember is the HDMI ports and cables are not equal, so it takes a while to get everything configured correctly.

Curved TVs are also going down, like 3D TVs, it's just a passing fad.

Hmm that is interesting.

It kind of makes sense though, I've never had a problem with this TV as far as horizontal resolution goes, only somewhat vertical when looking at it standing up.

This topic also made me update my profile picture to the one I use on other sites lol.

Plus I added a banner. I'm a dude but I used a girl character I like for the banner. I'm not sure if the banner is going to show up yet with the one I intended, I had to reupload it like 10 times to get it to center correctly (with one image being my current profile pic just to make sure the image was actually changing), and it also still came out a little blurry. I'm not messing with it any further though.

I just logged out of my account and looked at my profile and my banner wasn't there yet. I waited a few seconds and refreshed the page and it showed up, the one I intended. (My profile pic should also be correct).

VR porn is pretty crazy when done right

Yeah, I am at least assuming this. It's hard to resist getting a setup for this at the moment, but I think even here I'm going to wait a bit longer. I'm almost 100% sure though I'll at least have something for it in the not too distant future.

With other types of media the object isn't always full immersion, but with porn it usually is. That's why I think porn can really benefit from VR, and I suppose possible even AR, even if it isn't the greatest for other stuff.

@Mozzezz

Well, I've only tried it with PS VR on base PS4 which is only good for 1080p at 60fps vids. Anything higher and the vid has stuttering performance problems. PS4Pro can do 1440p though...

Now normally 1080p looks "HD enough" through normal viewing on a TV, but when you put it through VR, its more demanding that resolution be as high as possible. For gaming its not so bad because games have less realism to it. Of course, compare Driveclub VR to Driveclub, a really high graphic game, and you will see the drawbacks the developer had to make in order for the game to even run in VR. Its passable but still.
So in videos, 1080p under VR can still look a little blurry but still good enough. Doesnt look like normal 1080p you see on a TV though because of the fact its split to each eye.

That said, I havent experienced it, but I've see ads for some vids on PC required VR units that brag 6K resolution (VR Bangers no I wont provide the link lol). Thats gotta be pretty crazy then resolution wise when viewing. I dont have a PC powerful enough to get that nor the funds for a proper VR unit for PC either so....

But you can imagine how much better things will look once they're able to do 8k like this one in development:

Also, on PS VR, you can watch 3D BD movies via flash drive through an app called Littlstar. Its a virtual cinema so it looks like you're sitting in a movie theater. Pretty cool.
Also Youkyu app (only available through China PSN account) can play 3D Hollywood streamed movies through a virtual cinema. Free movies in English.

Outside of all that, you might still wanna pick up a PS VR just for the gaming stuff. Especially now coming up since there's a sale from June 8th to the 18th where the price has dropped by like $100 or $150 (it's $199. the same price as the new Oculus Go, portable VR unit)

Samsung 55" MU6290. Love it.

Good upgrade from my Samsung 40" C5000 1080p LED, which was an amazing TV for its time and literally like 1 inch thick, but it was a bit small.

6K resolution still won't be enough. I think I read awhile back that in VR you have to be running something like 16k (I know it's at least 8K) for the image to have the same quality as 1080p, at least in games that are meant for VR.

Thanks for the rest of the info, I'll have to look into it more later.

The reason I don't have PSVR is that I don't actually have a PS4 either and the investment would still be pretty steep. The reason I started coming to this board is cause I recently signed up for the 7 day free trial of PSNow on PC which also includes PS4 games, then signed up for 3 months for $45 about a day ago (I had two days left on my 7 day free trial and it just extended it from that end date like I thought it would). I also just bought two PS4 controllers and 2 10 foot usb wires (3 actually came in the pack I bought) for them for about $115 total to use on PSNow. So all in all, I got a bunch of PlayStation games including PS4 games for about $160.

None; the technology is too new, and I have 0 devices that rely on it. BluRay is more than good enough for me, and gaming is little incentive to make the leap, imo.

This and on top of that, both of my 1080p TVs still work great, one is 3 years old the other is 5. When 4K is more mainstreamed and everybody is focusing on it, I’ll make the jump. That or when my TVs stopping working.

I have the LG 55" C7 OLED.
It has the best color range, darkest blacks, and its pretty bright too. It also makes everything on the PS4, Xbox One, or Switch look amazing!

I don't see burn in despite what people are saying. I don't leave mine turned on when I'm not using it.
