Probably the worst combat of all time in a AAA game.

2 ways to play...the derp way...hold O circle and drink potions when you get knocked down.

The pro way...which isn't very pro at all. Hold square and wait for the circle QTE whenever fighting large packs of mobs, hold square and use warp strike after the enemy attacks when fighting boss enemies, hod square until the enemy attacks then hold circle until its dead when fighting singular non boss mobs. Use the R1 strike combos that have the biggest damage when ur meter charges and use summons when available.

That's literally it and it's the same for any mob in the game. The combat is shallow and broken as f***. You can't play aggressively because there is no hitstun, no tells and no juggling so you literally just have to play defensively which doesn't actually take skill like Dark Souls, you just hold f***ing square until the enemy attacks and then insert one of the above attacks listed based on which enemy you are fighting.

The story is poor and unfinished, but it's nowhere near as god awful as the combat is...it's just kinda forgettable/missed potential. (even after the updates)

The open world is barebones as it gets...no actual town hubs, loaded with fetch quests...it has a cool fishing minigame though which stops it from being one of the most boring open world AAA games ever but it's still far below average.

Framerate is horrid and clunky.

Yeah the game will always be trash.

That's like saying "the two ways to play Street Fighter games are button-mashing and spamming the Hadouken over and over." While definitely two ways to play the game, by far they are not the most effective nor best ways to play.
Stupid, stupid rat creatures!!!

No it's nothing at all similar..... if you spam hadouken or button mash in SF you will lose. How I said is the BEST way to win and an alternative cheap way to win. Neither of the ways you mentioned will actually net you wins against competent players or even the AI (after the first fight or 2). That is the big difference.

And doing what you suggested in co-op (as in, with other players) won't get you real far.
