The thing I don't get about the whole situation - and mind you, I'm not someone who watches sports - is that the arguments they use for kneeling during the Anthem is "if they don't protest at that point, when should they?" and "if they didn't do it then, would they have a chance to protest when people would hear it?" If I'm not mistaken, they do lots of interviews with players. Pre-game, post-game, the day after at a press conference, after a serious injury mid-game - they have lots of times they stick a microphone into a player's face and the player gives his opinion or assessment of something, and people obviously watch these. Why not use these times to speak out against these things? There's certainly no shortage of them. Why is "during the Anthem" the only time they can protest, when there's clearly other times the spotlight is on them and what they say? But like I said, I don't watch sports. Stupid, stupid rat creatures!!! |
