GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE GAME

Having completed the game with the ending this time, I think it's a good idea that I give you the details on what awaits you in new game+, based on my findings. It's entirely possible I may be wrong somewhere or I'm missing a detail.

1. When you start playing for the first time, you can choose between Normal and Easy.
EASY difficulty properties are as follows:
- HP regeneration out of combat.
- Certain GP abilities cost less to use (for example, Overclock is 1 GP on easy, but 2 GP on normal or hard).
- Enemies have lesser stats and give more GP upon defeat. Generally, big enemies give 4 GP, medium-sized guys about 0,5 GP, and small fries around 0,10 GP.
- If you use Escape GP ability while in combat, it returns you to the state just before entering combat, but without the penalty to the clock
- Entering combat where enemy strikes you [BAD] gives no penalty to your HP

NORMAL difficulty properties are as follows:
- No HP regeneration out of combat. The only way to recover HP is by using items from your item slots, eating at various restaurants, or by using Regen Guard ability.
- GP abilities are costly, and combine that with obtaining less GP from enemies, so only use them when you have to. Warp here costs 3 GP. >_> IMO it should have no cost to use.
- Enemies have better stats than on easy, and give less GP upon defeat.
- If you use Escape GP ability while in combat, it returns you to the state just before entering combat, but 1 hour passes on the clock! Luckily you can save anywhere.
- Entering combat where enemy strikes you [BAD] causes you a loss of 5% of MAX HP (not permanent loss, Lightning's HP is just reduced by 5%).

HARD difficulty properties are as follows:
- Pretty much the same as Normal, except that enemies have even better stats.
- Hard difficulty is unlocked after you complete the game for the first time by defeating the final storyline boss.

2. The world will end in six days. You can extend the timeline by completing main storyline quests (there are five), as well as subquests (66 subquests in total). If Yggdrasil grows a blossom after you arrive in the Ark, you were successful in generating another day.
- 1st extension: a blossom appears on the stem
- 2nd extension: a blossom appears on the stem
- 3rd extension: a blossom appears on the stem
- 4th extension: a blossom appears on the stem
- 5th extension: a blossom appears on the stem
- 6th extension: top of the tree blooms partially
- 7th extension: top of the tree blooms fully (locked into ending)

3. Chocolina's notice board will also give you notice board quests, but these are mandatory for something else.

4. By accumulating enough praise you will be able to generate another day, following the 12th day. When that happens, you're locked into the ending of the game.

5. When 13th day starts, you may have a possibility to unlock the extra dungeon. At the moment exact details aren't yet available, but it is believed that an accumulated total of 100+ quests must be done. These include both subquests and notice board quests.
- Extra dungeon isn't anything special. It's just a series of rooms, containing Omega versions of regular enemies.
- When you get to the end, you get to face an optional boss.

6. At least one quest must be failed in order to get subsequent one. The quest is the one given by an NPC named Roland in Luxerion. Roland is found sitting at the table south from the watchtower. First quest he gives you must be failed (when you obtain a book he's looking for, choose to read it!), and then he gives you another quest.

7. *Avoid* completing notice board quests too soon too quickly. Sometimes you will have to gather items, which are needed for both a subquest and a notice board quest. I would advise giving priority to completing subquests, as they give better stat boosts than notice board quests.

Yay, one of the most constructive posts once in a while. When you mean 'blooms fully', you mean with the sphere at the top or what?

NEW GAME PLUS DETAILS

1. You can start a NG+ in two ways:
- Getting Game Over by running out of days.
- Completing the game by defeating the final boss.

2. When you start a NG+, the following carries over:
- All items, except quest items.
- All weapons, except one sword which you get in final dungeon.
- All shields, except one shield which you get in final dungeon.
- Accumulated statistic bonuses, GP and ATB increments, as well as item slots. Even if you completed quest X on first play, complete it again on second play for a second (smaller) statistic boost.
- Gil obtained.
- All garbs and decorations collected.
- GP abilities obtained.
- Any and all quest progression is not carried over.
- Enemies killed counter for Omega versions is not carried over.

3. When you start a NG+ from a save on which you defeated final boss, you get following bonuses:
- You can choose HARD mode.
- You gain the ability to upgrade shields and weapons at the weapon stores. To upgrade a weapon or shield, you need cash and upgrade materials. Mats are either dropped by enemies of bought from certain shops. Weapons and shields can also be downgraded, if you so choose.
- Accessories are upgraded a bit differently. To cite an example: when you get to Luxerion for the first time, you begin just before the north train station. Look to your left to spot a ladder. Climb it and jump to nearby railing to find a treasure ball with accessory inside. When you open this same treasure ball again on NG+, the accessory you got on first round will get upgraded. You can upgrade it one more time on NG++. However, on NG+++ you will then get cash instead.
- Weapon stores carry more powerful equipment if you play on HARD.
- Damage output is increased in certain way (not exactly sure on tutorial that appeared with that, sorry I'm lacking details).
- FORCED NEW GAME+: When you get back in the Ark after 2nd day, you'll find an item which resembles a green hourglass. Examining this hourglass and confirming your choice twice will immediately suspend your current game progression. Make a save and use it to start the game from beginning (with stuff I described that carries over, of course). This is much better than having to manually truck through the days.
