Not bashing the game at all, just wondering as I got pretty bored towards the end of Stormblood but if they've changed things up a bit I'd be interested to come back.

The format and activities are pretty much the same, but the story is better. I think its definitely worth leveling through Shadowbringers and running a few alts to 80. The zones are great. I only played a month, but it was fun and worth the price. If your on PS4, you can grab it new on ebay for about $30 no tax free shipping, which is at least $10 cheaper than we paid at launch.

The main focus for me is the story so I sub when there's a lot of story content then unsub. The story is pretty good in this one so I would recommend it. I would say overall yes its the same but if you took a long break like I did, coming back is actually super refreshing and feels pretty new regardless of the same formula

My opinion is biased so take it with a grain of salt. The story was 50/50 for me. The story was not what I expected it to be based on the trailers and fanfest videos they showed. It made me believe we had to overcome our inner darkness or a struggle with darkness, embracing our darkness to fight against the evilness of light or something.

What we got was anything but what I expected. All we got was Go to this new world, solve their problems > turn the lights off > save the world > Done.

Granted there was some interesting scenes and the boss fights were interesting (at first) but then it slowly started to slide right back into the same old pattern that has plagued this game since 2.0. And now we're in patch lull season again so the hyped up crowd is gone, probably til 6.0.

The new areas are pretty, the music is better, they added some VERY OLD FFXI monsters like the lizard mobs from Gustaberg into Amh Amrang and Snapweeds from FFXI's Yorcia Weald into Rai'taka (which I appreciate). But other than that, not much is different. The formula is still the same, there's no new housing district(yet. probably not at all this expansion).

5.0 started strong, but now its back to the same old, same old. Also The new Eden raid has a couple copy pasted old ARR bosses in 2 of the fights with a slight new look with only 2 new bosses added in

I'm not expecting miracles in 5.1-5.5. They had a chance to change things up and add more content but as usual, we get the same crap but with a fresh coat of paint.

But like I said, my opinion is biased so take this as you will.

--But it should've been what you expected based on, ya know, the game. Especially if you did DRK quests, it'd be weird to retread the same ground in the MSQ and completely invalidate that.

copy pasted

--That's stupid. "Well some names are the same as this other thing but everything about the context, appearence, mechanics, and location is completely different" = copy pasted. No. You may as well say Deltascape 3.0(?) was copy pasted from Haukke Manor HM and Alphascape 2.0 was copy pasted from Keeper of the Lake. Heck, those 2 examples have more similarities.

I think it's worth it just to play the story out. If that part disinterests you, I wouldn't come back. The formula has not changed.

Nope. WoW adds new major systems and structures every expansion.

The E3/4 fights are NOT 'copy paste' fights of the originals. Sure, they share names, and some aesthetic similarities, but the actual fights, the mechanics and environments, are very different.
