Shinryu at launch was awesome. Actually felt like a final boss by testing all the mechs you've learned so far.

The only thing that made it difficult were people that apparently forgot all of the mechs up to that point and idiots that went into it without doing their lvl 70 job quest and didn't have their AF set nor lvl 70 ability.

Like seriously why?

Just yolo it, don't ruin the fun with a guide.

It's all fun until you f*** up multiple times and waste others people's time, though I assume if you use the word "yolo" you don't have the common sense or courtesy to even consider that.

You folks remind me of dungeon I ran in World of Warcraft years ago with a guildmate and friend. The guildemate was all about learning-by-doing whereas my friend was willing to tolerate that up to a point at which if feels referring to a guide is necessary. After about 3-4 wipes things did get a bit heated between the two but everything was still civil. Eventually we did beat the boss but I doubt the two will ever want to party up together again. There's definitely pros and cons to both approach in my opinion and neither is truly correct or incorrect.

Going in blind is only as good an idea as the player themself is good at learning on the fly.
Most players are not that good.

go in blind watching guides engenders passivity and prevents you from figuring things out on the fly.

I am glad I went in blind. I did both on the first try. Likely thanks to experienced players, but it went well, and I'm glad that I experienced it all spoiler-free.

Thank you everyone!
