how viable is melee-only build for red amge.I know it may be a dps loss(im not stupid!!) but I don't like specllcasting aspect of it at all.Like spells are single target but have AoE animations(hello Impact!).Its really weird.Meanwhile melee combo has Zorro Z-aesthethics to it and isreally cool.Also less buttons required because Im on PS4.

Oh Zay...

RDM's non-enchanted combo (which relies on STR) deals like:

Single target:
Riposte (Potency: 130) -> Zwerchhau (Potency: 100 / Combo Potency: 150) -> Redoublement (Potency: 100 / Combo Potency: 230)

Multiple targets:
Moulinet (Potency: 60)

...on a Magic Ranged DPS that will have around +260 STR (more if you overmeld STR materia).

So yeah, you tell me if that'd be viable or not.

but all ARR monks had 50 potency AoE with Arm of the Destroyer (only every second form!!) and nobody complained.it was viable.

wat? you can't be serious.
So you basically made a bait and switch to try to pathetically mock the arm of destroyer while neglecting StR for RDM is not their main stat and not exists in gear while mnk does and think it is the same just because some tooltip says "50 potency"?

Casters doing auto-attacks for extra damage became 100% negligible once HW released, the scaling didn't go up at all. Which is a shame, SMN and SCH could top 100 on auto-attack crits by the end of ARR, it was somewhat decent.

About 4-4.7k doing just the melee + ogcd but runs out of TP by 50s in.

Edit: Please don't try to be a Melee-only RDM ._.

yeah but those are like books and sticks and stuff. rapiers are OP. ask any souls nerd.

Being in melee range for extra autos is fine. especially if you have a dragoon in your party. Auto-attack adds about 27-30 dps (solo)
