Aksys posted on their Facebook page today that the save glitch in VLR has been fixed in the just released version of VLR on the Nintendo eShop.....

The save glitch in the PEC room has been addressed in the eShop version.

No word on whether this means a patch for the retail release is in the works.

I already got the EShop Version (living in Europe, we must have got it earlier). Does this mean I can redownload it for free to get rid of the bug and still keep my save files? Because the save glitch hit me hard half way through the game. I had to spend at least three hours worth of mashing A through text and solving puzzles again. It'd be great to replay the game without the constant fear of it happening again.

Funny thing is, before the E-Shop version was released and eradicated of this bug, you guys were waving it off like it was no big deal:

"Don't save during a puzzle or in a puzzle room."

Now, there's no need to bandage the developer's mistake that is still present in the US 3DS version; though no other version suffers from this bug.

I think everyone agrees that the save glitch is a problem, it's just that it was avoidable so people shouldn't pass up on the game just b/c of it. I'm glad that they were able to fix the glitch in the e-shop version at least. It's just too bad they probably won't patch it for the physical copies.

Ill be pretty annoyed if they release a "fixed" eshop version and not a patch for the physical copy.

I'm not sure of exactly what "The save glitch in the PEC room has been addressed" means. The glitch is most common in the PEC room, but not limited to it, and it doesn't just cause save corruption, but also crashes.

So was the programming flaw that causes the crashes and save corruption fixed altogether, or was the PEC room itself just changed to make it less of a problem area?

That's funny. They said they couldn't fix it..
It seems to me as though you are nitpicking. I would know, because I'm kind of an expert.

I'm hearing reports that the "fix" is that they just disabled saving in the PEC room.

Anyone confirm?
