Is this a normal thing? In the bast three weeks I've had 9 people ask me to ''lend'' them my PSN account so that they can download the DLCs. Sometimes the people say they will gibb me anything I want in exchange for lending them my account, other times I get stories about peoples credit cards being blocked from PSN store. Never before have anyone from any other game asked me that before, only in Borderlands 2.

I do use my account on my brother-in-laws system and have downloaded stuff on his system to keep myself amused when I babysit the dogs, but I wouldn't call that ''lending out my account''.

No, definitely not XD. I would drop dead before I would lend my PSN account to stranger so they can get a DLC for free. If anyone did ever try this on me I would send a very "educated" message, borderline to violate Sony ToS.

I could care less if you don't have money to buy a DLC or you credit card is blocked, whatever. It's my account, with personal info. They could even steal it from you (if for example your email password is the same as psn).

As far downloading content on another ps3, that's fine, Sony actually intended to be like this: You can download any content from a psn account to 2 ps3 at the same time. It doesn't need to be your home console for this to work.

Edit: I believe you can report those messages to Sony as fraud or attempted account stealing.

@Seitar

I found where you can report those people:
https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/218/~/report-inappropriate-or-abusive-users

Should be pretty easy to do it

Thanks :).

It's a pretty powerful quote delivered by Jade, his intonation is awesome. It's also from the game that made me join GFaqs as user (As mainly just reader before that), and by that reason I never changed it. Some people already told me is incomplete, but can't do much with GFaqs limit of chars and linebreaks.

Of course I would never let anyone get my account info, not that they could do anything with it (separate e-mail account and I only use pre-paid credit cards, same thing about Steam and Xbox Live, yes I am that paranoid about stuff like that). But thinking about losing all those things I've bought and paid for through the years and my precious 15 platinum trophies gives me nightmares.*shudders*

I did ''grief-report''(as Sony calls it) the three first messages via the friend list option(not just blocking them). But since I got those requests I thought maybe it was something that happends all the time and Sony ''looks through the fingers'' about it and lets it slide.

But just now when went to report the others I couldn't anymore, the option is gone on the PS3. The only way I could report was through my Vita, the IOS app didn't work either. And yes I did read on Sonys homepage how to do it but the option to report wasn't there on PS3 or the IOS app. Anyone got a clue why?

But yeah since I spend alot of time at my sisters place and they just use their PS3 for Netflix once in a while, so I kind of consider their PS3 my second one(they even said I could take if my broke down).

I'm paranoid also, but I actually have cc linked to my account, it's cheaper for me as lowest PSN cards around here is close 50.00USD and it's very convenient. I digress though, it's not only that info, it's my personal address, my email (Which I don't give quite easily) and some other personal info that could turn into a nightmare. Also as I went 100% digital on ps3, that means everything I bought is there. Trophy whatnot just play a small part in my account security.

As for the report thing, that's very odd, but then again Sony isn't very friendly on that matter. On xbox 360 is much easier to report anyone hacking or trying to scam you. Can't be much more of any help.

Nine people in a few weeks does sound a lot to me but then we probably have totally different online habits. Have you been in lots of random rooms? Been talking to lots of randoms? Or been wearing or carrying much dlc specific items?
If you don't spend much time with randoms then I'd be wondering if these people know each other or are the same person with alternate accounts...

Anyhoo. Long and short of it is, just like Gaara, I'd never share my account with strangers. Best answer to give IMO as soon as they start asking:
"I already gameshare and have no more slots available."

Yeah I almost always play in random rooms, but I never talk to people and rarely message anyone. And I don't use much DLC equipment, not even skins and such. So I don't know, maybe I've just been (un)lucky to get all of these people. But I had saved all the message and reported all of them.

Since it happened so frequently I started to think that maybe it was common practice or something. A lot of people start their conversations with: '' do you have any DLC?'' and my direct response now days are: '' you are not getting my password.'' But your response I will keep in mind for future encounters.

What perplexes me the most is what are their reasoning? '' I'm gonna ask a random stranger if I can borrow his private account to download things hes paid for but I'm too poor/cheap to pay for myself.'' Like how does a human brain think that is a acceptable thing to ask of someone?

i loan my account to a friend , i have a 5 digit passcode you have to put in to by anything on psn, no credit card data , no address data, and at anytime i can change password . sure, he has my info and i have his account on mine . Either of us can remove account activation through the sony web page, and change any detail so the other cannot access it . If your account is not activated on the other persons ps3 , they cannot use anything you have downloaded. (this includes dlc and games)

A PSN friend asked me to do this; I told him straight that with all due respect, I told him that no offense, but I wouldn't share accounts with someone I've never met F2F, much less known him for quite some time.
