Gamnesia ran this article because it would give them CLICKS and VIEWS. Clicks = Money. Views = Money.

It's clearly not token diversity that people are looking for. People are asking that Nintendo acknowledge that there are more types of races than white people and Asian people.

Also, I would hardly say that FE:A tackled sexual orientation. There's a single character who is vaguely, possibly bisexual. They certainly never declare her as such, just implications.

I guess punch out doesn't exist then. Asking for representation in Mario Kart is beyond ridiculous, especially since 1)Miis exist, and 2) This wasn't even a problem until literally yesterday.

1. "Here, one thing!" is not adequate, for reasons that needn't be said. That's basically requiring that anyone who is interested in seeing a black protagonist in a video game needs to like Punch-Out!!.

2. ...The acknowledgment of black people in an avatar creator is not exactly adequate, either. Again, for reasons that needn't be said.

It is a remake, not my fault you people think ports are remakes (but only on Nintendo systems)-Demondog666

That's not what people are looking for, either. "Well, here's one or two games. You ever play Punch-Out!!? Like, eight people are black in that game!" The suggestion that that is adequate puts characters like Doc Louis in the token category. Nintendo has hardly any (if any) black protagonists, and it should be acknowledged as a problem.

I really don't follow how this makes Doc Louis a token character, Punch-Out is very mixed between different races (much like real boxing), none of them appear to have been put in just to appease people.

Doc Louis also isn't treated in any special way because he's black. He's one of the most positively portrayed characters in the series, but he's still frequently the butt of jokes (as is everyone else).

This question is answered with a hearty "no", and is understood through basic effort and basic understanding of the English language. If you're going to demonstrate your inferiority by trying to make the discussion about the people involved in it, then go home. You're not smart enough to participate if that's the case.

It's not racism, it's ignorance. Japanese developers need to make a point of globalizing their games with respect to racial diversity. Hell, I'd accept the inclusion of black Toads in the Mario series; at least it'd be acknowledgment.

They don't NEED to do jack s*** with respect to racial diversity. You don't like it? Don't buy the game and make your own. Problem solved.

conversely, adding in that Mario and Luigi, wario and waluigi really aren't white. They don't live on a dystopian earth, they live in the mushroom kingdom. They are stereotypes of Italians, who are not "whites", they are Italians, and the dark hair means that they had Moorish blood enter their blood lines...

And yet, you'd rather have black toads in this game, despite how not only would they would have less importance than Doc, but has a much better chance of gaining controversy.
