This is Satoru Iwata. Now, most know him as the president of Nintendo, but guess what? He didn’t start out as a pencil-pusher, noooooo. This guy is a programming badass. Some of his feats include:

1. Programming Earthbound from scratch. This was a game where the original coding was a mess. But Iwata don’t care. Iwata don’t give a ****. He just completely did over the game and managed to make it work.

2. He ported the battle code of Pokemon Stadium to the Nintendo 64, WITHOUT ANY REFERENCE DOCUMENTS.

3. You know Gold and Silver? The most popular Pokemon games ever? Since Gamefreak was still kind of noobish, they managed to fill the cartridge with just Johto. What does Iwata do? He compressed it enough for them to fit Kanto in. That’s right - this mofo compressed an entire game down when the developers couldn’t figure out how to make it work. Iwata don’t care! Iwata doesn’t give a ****!
So, yeah. Between Sakurai, Miyamoto, Masuda, Tajiri, and Iwata, Nintendo is pretty much run by programming badasses.

And we see where that decision got them.

To anyone who thinks Yamauchi made a mistake in putting Iwata in charge, they are clearly mistaken. This man is a humble badass.

He is a great president for certain, and certainly less stubborn than Yamauchi was. I also do believe he made a lot of poor decisions lately.

Iwata:
Right. (laughs) You decided to release Pokémon Stadium for the Nintendo 64 and the first task was to analyse Red and Green’s battle logic and send it over to Miyamoto-san and his team. You’d normally expect there to be a specification document, but there was nothing of the sort…

Morimoto:
I’m so sorry! (laughs)

Iwata:
No, no, it’s fine! (laughs) Studying the program for the Pokémon battle system was part of my job.

Morimoto:
I created that battle programme and it really took a long time to put together. But when I heard that Iwata-san had been able to port it over in about a week and that it was already working… Well, I thought: “What kind of company president is this!?” (laughs)

it does not change the fact that he turned Nintendo from the best company to one of the very worst when he took over

he is one of the worst people to ever live

he must be removed in order for Nintendo to have any chance of being good again

While I agree that his reputation precedes him and that if anyone but Miyamoto would be in position as leader, it should be him, I do acknowledge that he's made a few bad decisions over the years.

Having said that, I don't think he's "THE DEVIL OF GAMING" as some of these Trolls believe him to be, and that without him, Nintendo wouldn't be sitting high where they are as winners of the previous console and handheld generations.

Iwata is like a Honey Badger.

This is probably the biggest problem with Nintendo and their fans.

Everyone is too ready to say "Oh, the mistakes the company makes is ok. This is the guy who made Earthbound!"

Or in the case of Miyamoto, who makes it clear every time he opens his mouth it's time for him to go: "Oh, it's ok, this is the guy who made Mario and Link!"

Or, in the case of Sakurai: "Oh, it's ok, this is the guy who does Smash!"

If the company and games are suffering, I don't care what you did in the past... it's time to move on to people who won't butcher the present and future just because of past accolades.
